My name is Wendy Bretz and I currently live in a small town located in Western New York along Lake Erie. I am a full-time working mother to an adorable, energetic little girl named Hannah.
I started scrapbooking about 8 years ago when Hannah was born. She was a true gift from God and she has changed my life in so many ways that I can't even begin to describe.
My style of scrapbooking is very clean, simple and graphic. I have been published in Creative Keepsakes, Scrapbook Etc, Simple Scrapbooks and Scrapbook Trends Magazines.
I am a 2007 Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame Winner and was previously a Garden Girl at Two Peas In A Bucket.com.
I am on Making Memories Design Team and I also create for Creative Memories. I create Digitally for Design House Digital and work directly with Karla Dudley Designs.
Since I began scrapbooking I have met some incredible people who have guided, encouraged and taught me a lot throughout the past six years. I look forward everyday to talking with friends I have met and creating new designs for layouts my daughter can one day admire.
Actually, this flower is probably one of my top FAVORITE flowers on all the Slice design cards! lol!!
I like the simplicity of it and the numorous things you can create using it.
Here is used different shades of monochromatic purple cardstock and created a simple design to hang in my living room. (cause you all know i like simple things hehehe)
I placed it in a black frame is it goes nice in my living room on the wall :)
If you haven't noticed already, when using the Slice and cutting on differenet materials some times your cuts may cut better than others.
When this happens, it's ok :) Your Slice is not broken. Your blade needs adjusted.
Just like if you get a wonky cut, your Slice might need to be "homed" or you just need to plug it in because it's tired and needs a little boost of energy :) It's just the little things you need to do to get the most precise cut possible for your projects.
You have to remember, some Cardstocks have different thicknesses and patterned paper comes in all different materials. And now, with the Slice Elite, you can cut through just about anything! Up to twice as thick as the normal things you have been cutting and making your projects with.
But before you go from cutting a shape on plain cardstock, then to cutting something with vellum and then to using it on fabric, you might need to adjust your Blade. With the Slice Elite, I've notice I don't have to do this as often but sometimes it is necessary :)
So, THIS is my number one Tip on Slicing with different mediums.
Here is a short video with Jenny explaining how adjust your blade.
Have fun and I would LOVE to see your projects you created using the Slice and different Mediums :)
It's different from the usual basic fonts I use but still classic and my style.
I love the thin brackets and the numbers where perfect for this layout I wanted to create :)
And...how cool are those TAGS! Not just your basic rectangle tag. They have some curves on the tops!
And...the word are on this one. I think I'm gonna have to make another one of those frames I did with all the cool words using the Slice. (Maybe a smaller version in some little frames)
Here's the layout I created using the SLICE and this card:
I used basic White and Kraft Bazzill and Making Memories Shimmer Alpha's to create the title. And I used the Slice Ledger Pad Paper to make the Tags. :) To finish, I used some Glitter Black brads on the Tags.
Don't forget to pick up this Design Card! It's perfect for any theme and especially some Heritage Projects. :)
